Welcome!

This panel, located on the side of the road that we took yesterday, welcomes us in the city. It is written both in hungarian and german, a lot of people of german origin living here. You can also see on the city's blazon the red castle from which the city takes its name,vörös meaning red and vár meaning castle.

Üdv Vörösváron! Ez a tábla fogadja a Szántó felől érkezőket, melyen kicsiny városunk címere is látható. Nem véletlenül kétnyelvű a tábla, hanem mert Vörösváron él - remélem még mindíg - Magyarország egyik legnagyobb lélekszámú német kisebbsége.

Ce panneau, situé sur le bord de la route que nous avons prise hier, nous souhaite la bienvenue dans la ville. Il est écrit en hongrois et en allemand, beaucoup de gens d'origine allemande vivant ici. On peut aussi voir sur le blason de la ville le château rouge dont la ville tire son nom, vörös signifiant rouge, et vár château.
