We saw this bird yesterday in the fields. Khádi says it's a buzzard, scientific name buteo buteo. As for me, I would call it a big bird, so I won't argue about the name, and neither do I have the slightest idea on how old it may be...

No, it is not a buzzard. It is a hawk and it looks very much like a Coopers Hawk but it might also be a Sharp-shinned Hawk. It is a hawk for sure but I am not sure which kind of hawk you have in your country.
Not sure what kind of bird it is, but a beautiful picture!
